Hangautor’s*: Steel hangar
3D configurator

HangAutor specializes in the production of steel structures and industrial and power construction. The projects range from small agricultural sheds to large warehouses, production and logistics halls, always adapting to the specifics and needs of the clients.

Objective:

To streamline and automate the design and quoting process for standard steel hangars — enabling generate accurate structural layouts, material specifications, and price proposals in minutes, without needing advanced CAD knowledge

  • Region:

    EU

  • Industry:

    Prefabricated steel structures

  • Main focus:

Standardized steel hangars with location-based structural optimization and full panelized cladding options

The challenge

Designing steel-framed hangars traditionally involved
  • Manual structural calculations:

Engineers had to determine loads and select frame profiles based on project location — a time-consuming and error-prone process.

  • Fragmented workflow:

From engineering to quoting, multiple tools and departments were needed to finalize a project. This slowed down turnaround time and introduced inconsistencies.

  • Delayed visualization process:

Clients couldn’t see the final structure or pricing until engineering had finalized drawings.

  • Difficult scaling:

Standard projects still required expert involvement, limiting scalability in sales and delivery

Our Solution & How It Works

INDUSTRIT developed a web-based 3D configurator specifically designed for hangar-type buildings. At its core is an automated structural engine that calculates load requirements based on the selected location and dimensions, and then determines the optimal steel frame profiles accordingly.

Users can customize wall and roof cladding, choosing from sandwich panels or profiled metal sheeting. As configurations are adjusted, the system updates a 3D model in real time, allowing clients to view and interact with the structure at any stage — greatly improving understanding and speeding up decision-making.

Once a configuration is finalized, the system generates a full package of documentation. This includes a detailed 3D model, technical 2D drawings, a complete Bill of Materials (BOM), a formal commercial offer with pricing, and a technical data sheet — all aligned and ready for production or client approval.

Key outcomes

With this new 3D configurator in place in place, ElevateTP now offers instant, professional quotes backed by technical documentation, giving customers a faster and more confident buying experience. Internall teams are free from many repetitive tasks and can focus on higher-value work

  • Up to 200% reduction in manual engineering input

  • Real-time load-based calculations based on project location

  • 5× faster quote generation compared to traditional methods

  • 100% consistency between 3D model, structural specs, and commercial offer

  • Zero delays from back-and-forth between sales and engineering

  • Fully exportable documentation, including structural drawings, material lists, and branded price quotes
